Holiday Club 2025 - The Clubhouse

For over 50 years a summer holiday club for primary aged children had been run in Sedbergh.  This year 60 children are attending the club run by a team from the Western Dales Mission Community, under the leadership of Ben Maunder, Children, Youth & Families Worker for the Mission Community.  Booking was full within 24 hours of being open.

This year the Club is using material produced by the URC called ‘The Clubhouse’ with the theme All Are Welcome.  A daily programme including Bible stories, songs (with actions), craft activities and games – all on the theme – takes place each morning, with the children in six teams split by age, all based in The People’s Hall in Sedbergh.  The week ends on Sunday morning with a special service in the Hall, attended by the local congregations, the children and their parents, celebrating the week’s Club and sharing what the children have learned.  The children in year 6 will be presented with a Bible to keep.

Sedbergh’s Holiday Club is part of a programme of events across the Mission Community for children and families, including Messy Church, Teatime Church, Ignite Youth Club and Bible Study, school assemblies, after school clubs and much more.  The Mission Community seeks to ensure everyone in our area knows they are welcome in the family of God.
