Interfaith School Visit

Today we welcomed faith representatives to Sedbergh, to help lead two sessions engaging students with questions of belief and practise. Each representative shared their perspective on the 'Golden Rule’, an ethical maxim which is found in most faiths. This event coincides with Interfaith week, the purpose of which is to foster conversation and understanding between people of different faiths and none.

The morning session was held at the people’s hall with pupils from Settlebeck School and Sedbergh School. The afternoon session was given to pupils from Sedbergh Primary and Dent Primary Schools. A lunch was provided by St Andrew’s Sedbergh, with opportunities for further discussion and reflection.

Listening carefully to different perspectives, and sharing own own faith experiences, is a helpful way of understanding our own place within the world. Thank you to all who participated.
