3Generate 2025

On the weekend of 3rd-5th October a group of three young people from the Western Dales and myself joined with a group of thirty-two young people and several leaders from across Cumbria to attend 3Generate (formally known as the Methodist Youth Assembly) at the NEC in Birmingham. This was an exciting and fun-packed weekend full of faith and friendship! The programme started on the Friday evening, with a full day on Saturday and ended with worship and lunch on the Sunday. Over two thousand children and young people were in attendance and around nine hundred adult leaders and volunteers. Accommodation was in tent villages set up within the NEC exhibitions halls. The Cumbria Youth team had their own little village of tents which was our base from which we accessed all the many and varied activities and events which took place in a programme across the whole weekend. Some of the venues names included The Creation Station, The Foundry, The Globe, The Great Outdoors, The Leisure Centre, The Orb Stage, Tech Hub, The Portal and The Sound Studio. There were all kinds of activities to take part in including art and craft activities, sports and climbing, tech activities, music sessions, health and well-being sessions to name but a few and also a great many talks, interactive seminars, question and answer sessions, worship and prayer events to attend. We all had a fantastic time! Seeds of faith were planted, watered and nurtured, new friendships made and some old ones rekindled! We can’t wait to return next year! “I really enjoyed this weekend as I got to grow closer to God and watch a lot of others do the same. I really enjoyed spending time with everyone”.

“I enjoyed the range of activites. I enjoyed the Saintz Band. I enjoyed diving deeper into my faith”.

“It was a lovely experience and a great way to dive deeper into faith. The rock climbing and caving were definitely a highlight for me!”
